What the Immobilizer / Key Light Means
The immobiliser / key light on a your car normally blinks when the car is locked (anti-theft armed). If it flashes while trying to start, the car is not recognising your key and will not start.
Common Causes
- Dead key fob battery
- Faulty transponder in the key
- Immobiliser antenna ring fault
- Key not programmed
- Low vehicle battery
How to Fix It
- Replace the key fob battery
- Hold the key/fob close to the start button or reader
- Try the spare key
- Check the vehicle battery voltage
- Have the key reprogrammed or the antenna ring checked
